very sad day.
I got a earful from Lee Fui for trying to get exempted from GCP, dammit.
I guess it was improper handling on my part. Now, I can't go for the safety induction course, neither can I go for the YDSP Holiday treat. I considered asking if I could go for the holiday treat halfway, but I guess Lee Fui's so pissed off with me, I'd better not bother her. ): comfort me, someone.
On the other hand, I'm rather excited about the meteor shower tomorrow, or rather Wednesday, though I hope nothing goes the way Xujun thinks it will. He's so pessimistic, argh.
Research is going well, thgouh Gong Hua and Zhang Jian decided to change the plans again. Instead of dealing with HPC (hydroxypropyl cellulose), they've decided to make more YAGs, this time, using Ce3+. This is getting nowhere for our research, in my opinion and I don't even know if SSEF is going to accept this. I mean, how investigative can it be if others have done it before? And ooh, Zhang Jian treated me lunch today haha. (:
Bon voyage to Darius, Janice, Minyi as they head off to Korea and Silicon Valley, lucky assholes. ): Well, I shall try and enjoy myself in Singapore then, though with this sort of damned weather and stupid school that is so rigid in rules, it can hardly be any good.

Damn, I really must stop watching Korean dramas. The more I watch, the more I feel )): .

beat.
I apologise to Jessica for announcing her little hypothesis lol.
I'm beat after the entire morning's of captain's ball and the afternoon's badminton.
Seriously, I don't know what's wrong with me today, or rather recently. I've flown into random tempers, spamming smses at friends (such as sending 29 smses in 2 hours talking random), hated people very badly, felt miserable. Damn, it's not PMS, so it must be pre-depression.
Now, I've officially got another event coming up, so I'm more busy than ever. And to add on to these, I've got a sudden pimple breakout (well, actually, just one really big one), probably cos of peanuts.
Oh yeah, the event is from HCAstro, in view of the upcoming meteor shower (which Xujun kindly reminded me) by the Leonids. Yeah, so we'll see lions roaring down the sky on the 17th Nov. I may stay overnight with the guys, depending on whether I'm tired or not, I'll probably need to return to lab the next day.
To end, I apologise for my breakneck and vigour for today's Captain's Ball event. Homeostasis with regards to adrenaline and sex hormones is bad ):

Super busy.
So how's the new face? Think it's a bit childish, but well, I spent a good 30min on it, and another 30min redoing it cos the resolution was too small. But heck, I'll stay with this till at least end of the year.
Goodness, I'm rushing down to NTU everyday, for nothing. The silly sample is taking so bloody long to turn from a solution into a sol, I'm getting impatient.
Research@NTU is quite slack. And I really really thank God for my mentors, even though they speak 70% incomprehensible Chinese (and English) in reference to chemistry, but they are really nice and they seriously teach us a lot of stuff (: especially Zhang Jian haha. Gong Hua's nice too but she's quieter haha. And Jessica suspects they're going out together lol... But the Research has been really awesome for me, I've had fun washing dishes!!! beakers with super de-ionised water (wth?), messing around with gloves and blowing them into balloons, peering into others' works, listening to Gong Hua and Zhang Jian talk... We even managed to hack into the NTU computers, so we get to log in and use free internet lol. Not really, they have this awesome system where you just need to sms to their intranet to create a one-day-valid account to log in to use their internet. Food at NTU is great too, they have McDonalds (ok, rather pathetic, I hate macs), Subway, Canadian Pizza, Old Chang Kee, Sakae Sushi (they have these cute froggy slippers!)... and a nice food court that sells horrible mixed veg rice according to Jessica, but really cheap food. Like you get one full fishball noodles (6 big fishballs) for $2 when in Nanyang (my sch, duh) , you get 3 pathetic fishballs and some noodles for $1.70. Then we got our reading passes from the university so we can roam the library and borrow books as we like (: Plus, they have free shuttle bus that brings you from Pioneer MRT to your specific school (in my case, Material Science block). That's like saving 35c per day inclusive of rebate, so for the 2 months I go there, I save about $11.20 leh. LOL. Yeah, I'm on a $$$ saving journey.
I'll have plenty of things coming up next, incld:
#1 Tomorrow (or rather today, considering it's 1:09am): Captain's Ball competition with churchies #2 Sunday: Church - serving as projectionist, yet again #3 Monday: Probably need to rush down to Nanyang to see Shirlene Tieh regarding exemption from 2 days of GCP (out of the 8 days leh). #4 19th Nov: Science in the Café at SSC #5 24th Nov: Safety Induction course at NTU #6 26th Nov: Research@YDSP Holiday treat #7 Return to NTU everyday to carry out Research@YDSP #8 Outing with Minyi and Janice (: after they return from overseas #9 Cycling with Darius and friends? (Darius suggested it) #10TPYM church camp #11 Various X'mas events #12 Chalet with Minyi and Janice (: (next year january)
With so many things on, how to travel like Darius who's going Korea? I'm forcing him to buy me presents haha. Minyi and Janice too! Well, they should pity poor me, I'm so busy in S'pore.
Meanwhile, Jessica and I intend to submit our Research@ydsp project for SSEF. Because apparently, the entire 401 is doing it, so she wants to do it too. It'll be quite cool of course, I can't wait to see Darius face if we manage to pinch a bronze award haha. But we may not have such a high chance, considering how slack our research is.
As promised, here are some photos, but these are like super outdated cos they are from Day 1, and I haven't uploaded the more recent ones.
Before we started. And it's spinning! Addition of citrate acid monohydrate into the mixture of yttrium, aluminium and neodymium nitrate. Meet my lab partner, Jessica (:
And of course, the greatest one of all. ME! LOL.
By the way, are O levels over yet?

CHANGES!
Time for some changes! NO MORE EXAM STRESS. At least, till the start of next year. We've been kindly informed that HCJC intends to test us on Binomial Theorem, Trigonometry, Algebra (what kind of topic is this?!), Ratio and proportion (and what the heck is this?!), and Graphs. And yeah, I'm going to heck care and still take the SMTP test next year. Well, take also fail, don't take also fail, then take for fun lor.
Speaking of SMTP, I owe the library an A level Chemistry CD-rom. Die die must return tomorrow.
Today, I went to NTU to carry out my research@ydsp. And okay, I seriously have problems with Chinese. Not to mention chemistry in chinese. Gong Hua and Zhang Jian (asst mentors) were quite nice though, but I think they are rather oblivious to the fact that we can't understand both their chinese and english, and they can't understand our english.
Eg. Me: "那为什么这块透明的瓷片似乎没有refraction的?" Zhang Jian: "有啊,你用另一个角度看。瞧,见到灯光反射吗?" Me: "...我是说refraction. 你懂,那个灯光会bend的。。。" Zhang Jian: "这不就是嘛。。。看到了吧?" Me: I looked at Jessica Choo and said "Forget it."
But they are very nice people, and sometimes, I think Singaporeans bully them ): Like there was this b!tch from the ceramics processing lab who vented her anger at Gong Hua regarding the use of some furnace thingy.
But well, gives me a chance to improve my chinese speaking skills (even if I can't write for nuts). And isn't it cool to do stoichiometry in chinese?
LOL. I promise pictures soon, but I must get rid of this blogskin.

Graduation (: & some ):
4 years @ Nanyang, partially well-spent. The upper secondary life was the best. I screwed up my lower secondary life and henceforth, I apologise to the two-fivers'07 for screwing their lives as well.
But truly, I really enjoyed my secondary 3/4 life. I've gotten MSG 3.00, I've failed math, I've failed physics, I've broken school rules, but still, life's good.
I'll really be looking forward to a new school life over at Hwa Chong, make new friends, mug for AstroChallenge 2010, new cca (apart for Astro)...
Graduation Ceremony was *shingz*. But there were pretty gifts, one of which is a key chain that features a CERAMIC nanyang uniform, so it's WHITE elephant anyway.
But isn't this cuter than Scribbles? Cheryl Chan and me. Holding room in LT 1. They made a silly little video on how to behave during the ceremony. Left-right: Cheryl, Me, Angelina, Ethel, Cheryn It looks like she's reading, but no, she's sleeping. Some random mother/guardian. Ming Wei trying to spoil my pic. LOL. And they made us clear the chairs. Graduation teddy again! *shingz* the ceremony. And they told us they've only started installing air cons in the hall this year, so we're the unlucky batch, suffocating in the hall.
Worship practice today pissed me off rather a lot today. Cos of late coming. I had no time for lunch and was almost late for tuition in the end. It made my whole day rather bad ): like, 35 min out of the allocated 2h we had!? No offence but I seriously think leaders should have a better sense of punctuality.
Family gathering tonight. The maids came up with rather great full-course dinner. They made me enjoy Malay food, which I usually don't.
Lao-peh is nagging at my ear to shut the com, which I shall now do so, since his first nagging 2 hours ago.

iPhone or iPod touch
iPhone too ex. With a stingy dad who thinks that iPhone is bullshit, I can only settle for an iPod touch.
I shall wait and see the price of it at SITEX 2009. If the price is about the same as the online price, I'll go for the online one, which in addition gives you free laser engraving.

SA - Summative Assessment
Apparently, I was wrong about my projected MSG, 1.82. Even though yeah, my EOY MSG was an ugly 2.00.
I think I left the book in which I recorded all my results in school, but my overall was a 77.81% with MSG 1.41. But somehow, I think Chai edited the marks again. There's no way that I could have gotten a 72% for my CAs. bastard.
HCI College Section teachers came to speak to us. Should I take KI? It's such a ridiculous subject anyway, and occasionally forces me to question my faith. But I think I'll be trying out for SMTP. Which means I'll have to start mugging certain JC stuff and constantly revise maths, chem and physics.
